Antibody Assessments

Allergic and other hypersensitivity reactions to foods and aeroallergens are characterized by elevated allergen-specific antibody levels in the affected individual's blood. Research indicates that these types of reactions are implicated in a number of health problems. Through the Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) methodology we provide a useful tool for the practitioner to assess his or her patient's allergies and sensitivities to a variety of common allergens.

Through the ELISA method a multi-well micro titer plate is pre-coated, or absorbed, with purified protein and glycoprotein allergens at specific concentrations. The standard curve based method for semi-quantitative allergen-specific IgE ELISA is traceable to World Health Organization (WHO)'s standards. WHO's standards increase immunoassay sensitivity against a broad range of allergen concentrations allowing for the detection of minute levels of IgE antibodies in a serum specimen for accurate assay performance. With this the US BioTek testing remains superior and competitively positioned in the industry.

The features of a US BioTek Antibody Assessment test are:

  • Antigen Standardization - We start with the highest quality standardized reagents available from major licensed manufactures in the U.S.A.
  • Accurate and Consistent - We employ high-performance, high-capacity automation and tracking to ensure accurate, uniform, and consistent assay results. Day- to-day assay variability due to technical error is eliminated.
  • All Results are Run in DUPLICATE - This ensures a valid and precise assay with repeatable test results.
  • Our Assay Quantifies True Antibody Levels - We utilize 3 internal controls and 2 negative blanking controls for each assay batch of patient specimens to ensure accurate results.
  • 7-Zone Color Bar Graph - Patient antibody levels against respective antigens for our food and inhalant panels offer a visual representation of the results.
  • Foods and Aeroallergens are grouped by Type. (E.g. dairy, nuts/grains, molds, pollens, etc.)
  • User-Friendly Report within 10-14 days of receiving Blood Specimen.
  • Individualized FoodStats Elimination & Rotation Diet Guideline - Included with each food antibody report exhibiting high reactions.
